We are a community of Catholic women who have been established as a private association of the faithful by a Decree of Approbation received from the bishop of the Diocese of Portland, Maine in 2011. Being a private association of the faithful is the first step in becoming a religious congregation.
The statutes of the Sisters of the Curé of Ars were approved for women who wish to become vowed members and live in community and also for women who live alone or with family and who become promised members of the Sisters of the Curé of Ars. Women who become vowed members take the three vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. and wear a traditional habit.
We accept women from the age of 21, who are single, widowed or divorced without dependents. Promised members can continue to live alone or with family and also continue to work and exercise family responsibilities. They follow the prayer life of the community and engage in the ministries of the community as far as their family and work commitments allow.!
We invite you to come and visit us and see what we are about !
